Museum of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin
In 1869, the Etchmiadzin Cathedral Museum was built. Until then, traditional sacred relics were kept behind the stage, which complicated the display of the designs. Over the years, new museums were created in St. Etchmiadzin, and today the following structures are part of the museum complex: Mother Cathedral Depository-Museum (1869), "Khrimyan" Museum (1896), Museum of the Old Monastery (1971), Museum of the New Monastery (1965). ), "Alek and Marie Manuk-yan" Treasury (1982), Ruben Sevak Museum (2013).
Among the sacred treasures of the museum are St. Geghard, which is kept in a silver box, the relic of Noah's Ark, the fragmentary cabinet of the Holy Sign of Khotakerats, the cross with the fragment of Ashot Yerkat, the cross made of mountain crystal of King Hovhannes-Smbat of Ani, the right hands of the apostles St. Thaddeus and St. Bartholomew, Andrew and The relics of St. Gregory, the Savior of Havuts Tar church, the blind of Reverend Komitas, the paintings of Stepanos Lehatsi and Vardges Surenyants and many other art pieces.
The museum display also tells about the Diaspora, as many specimens represent the region from which it was brought.
The museum has been participating in the Museum Night event since 2013.
